I challenged myself to a water coloring class back in 2007, and now I have a new appreciation for all things water and color. It’s a difficult style of art. No room to mess up because you can’t fix it like you can with oil painting. I’m pretty sure my fingers were stained purple and green that whole semester. Nothing like a good ol’ art class to bring your GPA down.

Anyways, I stumbled upon MaiAutumn’s shop on etsy and it reminded me of my struggle with that class. Check it out:

Holiday Shopping with Lauren Blythe Designs

A few weeks ago, I helped Lauren out at the jewelry counter. I could tell she had a real love for jewelry by the way her eyes bounced around the glass case. We began swapping our passion for all things gold, jeweled, and bedazzled if you will. I showed her my favorite pieces as she ooohed and ahhhhed. Anyhow, amongst our short acquaintance she mentioned her own jewelry business and then tossed me her card before leaving the store. Here’s a little more about her…

Bio (from her Etsy store):

I am a wife and a mother of a 5 year old little boy, and I’ve been creating jewelry for over 7 years! I love vintage components and the “thrill of the hunt” to find beautiful pieces to create into jewelry. I am an avid music lover, love cats, to cook, walk, fall is my favorite season and I am a huge fan of Mad Men!

Additionally- most of the photos of my jewelry are taken on old postcards, love letters, books, wedding invitation, etc. Most of these items were my great-grandmother’s, grandmother’s and mother’s. The book that a lot of the photos are used on is my mom’s old “Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.” The wedding invitation was my grandparents. The postcards were sent to family from my great-grandmother on her honeymoon! Hope you enjoy!
