Dear Joanna,

      Happy Birthday! In class today I learned that Sept. 8th is not only your day of birth but has two very significant historical events.

1) Today in 70 CE  Titus (Emperor of Rome)besieged  and conquered Jerusalem, destroying the Temple!

2) In 1504 Michelangelo unveiled the famous Statue of David in Florence.

Didn’t your birthday just get so much cooler?  I’m going to research my birthday now so we can compare events…Anyways, I just wanted to give you a Bella Life shout-out because you are my boo and I love you! We have had ups and downs, some serious cries and laughs, and eaten a lot of food together at 12:30 am. Thank you for being my secret keeper and sharing my love for anything ancient. I wouldn’t want to talk about the Vikings, Celtic languages, and Roman literature with anyone else.  You forced our friendship down my throat with your quick wit and generous heart and I am so glad my pride finally crumbled Cheers to 25 more years of friendship.

Post Script: Remember how I was horribly rude to you on campus 2 weeks ago? Forgive me… I was a total biotch. My only excuse being I was stressed and standing outside in 115 degree whether. (wow, my excuse is so lame. sorry.)
