Last week, I was in Boston for work.  The trip was AMAZING.  I am smitten with Boston.  Everywhere I turned, there was character and history.  Here’s a little glimpse into my business trip.

DAY ONE:

The hotel we stayed at was a building FILLED  with history.  The Back Bay Hotel, was the former headquarters of the Boston Police Department (no, it wasn’t haunted).  As soon as I walked through the front door, I was greeted with a roaring fire and the sweet aroma of fresh flowers.

Our first night there, we had dinner at the hotel’s Irish Bar – Cuffs (I know, it sounds like a dirty club or something). If you ever stop in for a drink, I recommend ordering the hummus platter and thin crust vegetable pizza.

DAY TWO:

I woke up with not one, but SEVEN huge zits.  Seriously?  Of all days to breakout, it has to be on the day I’m in Boston presenting my new website?  I’m already self conscious about looking young (I know…. I know…. I’ll be grateful for it when I’m in my fifties) and now I have to walk into a conference room, filled with people I’ve never met, donning PIZZA FACE.

On a brighter note, the presentation went well.  (Why wouldn’t it, when I spent a majority of the time talking about what I know best {moi, the blog, social media}).  BTW, the website was a big hit!

Later that evening, a group of us headed over to the Rustic Kitchen for a dinner.  The food here was 5 stars (and I’m sure I gained 5 pounds).  I got my yums yums on with: homemade potato chips, wood-fired wild mushroom pizza, rice balls, Mushroom Tortellini (in a Marsala sauce with spinach and pine nuts), gelato (chocolate, vanilla and cherry garcia) and diet coke.  {As always, people were AMAZED by the fact that I don’t drink.  I’m a rare specimen.}

The best part of the night, was getting back to my room.  Room service had the bed turned down for me, classical music playing, the heater cranked up, warm towels, a robe and chocolate waiting.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

To be continued…
