This weekend I happened upon a recipe for making your own homemade peanut butter. And since I love peanut butter-but worry about all the “bad” ingredients in PB-I’m going to try it.

Homemade Peanut Butter

 Ingredients:
1 cup Virginia Peanuts, salted and roasted
2 tablespoons peanut oil (Option use half walnut oil and half vegetable oil)
2 tablespoons honey or Agave Nectar
1/2 teaspoon sea or kosher salt (or more if needed)

Directions:
Blend all ingredients together in a food processor. Scrape the sides of the bowl as needed. Process until the peanuts resemble a thick, but mostly smooth, and shiny peanut butter, about 4 minutes.

Store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks. If oil separates, turn the container upside down.

Happy Eating!

Debs

P.S. Eat on homemade bread with homemade jam!
