I was given a really nice set of Tupperware as a wedding gift.  A couple months after receiving this Tupperware, I stored left over Chicken Tortilla Soup in it.  Much to my dismay, after emptying and washing this Tupperware, I noticed there was a faint “red” stain.  In addition to this, the Tupperware continued to smell like my left over soup (I haven’t been able to use it since).  Due to this unfortunate event, I was filled with excitement when I stumbled upon the below green cleaning tip for contaminated/stained Tupperware.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Squeeze some lemon juice into the contaminated container.
  2. Add a couple of teaspoons baking soda.
  3. Use the lemon as a cleaning tool and work it in.

(If the stains are particularly bad, you can let the lemon/baking soda mixture sit overnight and “re-scrub” the stains the following morning.)
