So it’s time to get out all of the ideas you’ve been collecting for your dream kitchen-or if you haven’t begun then it’s time to start COOKIN’ up some great kitchen ideas.There are so many decisions to make when putting together a kitchen because you have to take into consideration the functionality as well as the overall decor look. So for the next two days I am going to give you a list of things that you will need for this very important room.
LIST #1 for a “COOKIN” Kitchen:
Atmosphere and Feel: What are the key words that you would use to describe your kitchen? Are you going for a classic, retro, industrial, urban or country feel? Determining the ambience of your kitchen will help you in making all the other decisions.

Color Palette: The colors that you use in your kitchen will be on everything from your walls to your floor-your cabinets and countertops as well as appliances. These colors need to work together in harmony with each other so it takes careful planning. In addition, you will need to carefully consider the fabrics that you choose for your kitchen and how they fit into the overall color palette.

Cabinets: Are you starting from the ground up or working with a pre-existing cabinets and countertops? With your cabinets you need to consider the wood and color as well as the style. Will your cabinets be closed or open-or a mixture of both? Will there be an island? What kind of knobs will you use on your cabinets?

Counter Tops: What type of materials will you choose for your counter tops. It’s important to research and to become knowledgeable about the type of counter tops that you select. If possible, see large samples of the counter tops you are selecting for your kitchen. Make sure that color works with your cabinets and flooring.

Appliances: There are so many choices today for the style and finishes of your appliances. Will you also be adding additional appliances besides the basics? Will you be adding door panels on some of your appliances?
